What is Routes?

Routes is a new Holidaymaker feature that lets you create mapped trails and activity guides for your guests. These can be walking routes, cycling loops, or simple guides linking on-site facilities and nearby attractions. Guests follow them step by step on their phones, making it easier to see and do more during their stay.

Why it matters for guests and teams

Guests expect clear, useful information at their fingertips. A printed map or a noticeboard no longer goes far enough. Digital guides give guests confidence to explore, while freeing your team from repeating the same directions.

Benefits include:

  • Highlight walking trails, cycle routes or hidden spots on your site
  • Direct guests to facilities like cafés, play areas or pools
  • Link activities with nearby attractions for added value
  • Encourage repeat visits by showing there is always more to discover

How it works day to day

For guests, the feature appears as an interactive map in the Holidaymaker app. They can pick a route, follow waypoints, and see information points along the way.

For your team, it’s all managed in the same CMS you already use. Creating a new route is as simple as dropping waypoints onto a map and adding a few details. No new systems, no extra training.

Where it makes the most impact

Routes is a natural fit for holiday parks, but it also works for campsites, glamping sites and attractions. Any operator with land, facilities or trails can use it to guide guests and create memorable experiences.

At the same time, visibility is becoming harder to maintain. OTAs, paid ads and AI-driven search results are capturing guest attention earlier than ever. If you rely only on third parties, your brand risks being overshadowed. Digital guides give you a steady way to keep guests connected directly with you – before, during and after their stay.

Routes is not just about maps. It gives your guests more reasons to explore, and it gives you more control over how that exploration connects back to your brand.
